European Release

The PAL version was released today along with the Piggyback guide book. I think I shall be spending most of my time on this from now. The guide book is absolutely massive and packed with details. I'll let you know more about the guidebook after I've completed it with it.

Square-Enix are launching the official European FFXII site in 38 days from today, and state the release is in February 2007.

Sony PlayStation 3 - American Release

The chaotic night of the 16th November as soon as clocks struck midnight people were off buying the newest next-gen console the Sony PlayStation 3 que spots were held from 48 hours before the event just to be first in line and as the moment came American retaliers sold out all their stock of the next-gen console before dawn. As more are being shipped to only those who had pre-ordered their consoles received one whilst the others will have to wait for the next shipment.

Most people who waited for their copy of the console for so long only bought it for it to be sold on eBay.com an online auction site where the console was sold for up to $10,000+ to buyers desperate for the console overseas.

Sony PlayStation 3 - PS3

Sony Playstation 3 has been the topic of conversation for a long time. Now with the PS3 release only days away here in the US the buzz has turned into a roar!

Sony's release in Japan of only 100,000 consoles on November 11 was worldwide news. And better news was that Sony cut the price after feedback from Japanese gamers.
Unfortunately the price drop appears to only be for the Japanese PS3 release. So what will the cost be for US gamers?
The 20 gig Playstation 3 will retail for $499 while the 60 gig PS3 will retail for $599. The 60 gig console will also include built-in Wi-Fi connectivity as well as a built-in Blu-ray next-generation DVD player making it worth the extra money.

While Sony is rolling out fewer Playstation 3 consoles than they had anticipated they're list of games available in conjunction with the launch is 20 deep. More than typically are available when a new console gaming system hits the stores.
The quality of the titles is also very good making it hard to resist picking up a PS3 sooner rather than later.

As you all know when a Japanese games if being translated into English they change some of the names. Here are some of the name changes for Espers that have been posted on the official website:

Shumihaza -- Shemhazai
Hashmalim -- Hashmal
Cuchrain -- Cúchulainn
Zelhera -- Zalera
Zodiac -- Zodiark

L.A., California. 10/11/06 - October 11, 2006 was now Final Fantasy XII Day.

You've probably heard the news by now and if you haven't then now you have.
NYC and Company which is New York City's official tourism and marketing organization declared October 11, 2006 Final Fantasy XII day.
Why October 11,2006? This was the day that a press conference for the release of the much anticipated Final Fantasy XII was held at the Times Square Information Center.

As part of the festivities there was a Final Fantasy XII cos play competition. Entrants and winners were showcased at the event.

Trailers for the new PlayStation 2 game were played while the cos play contest winners stood on stage.

It is official - a review copy of the english version of Final Fantasy XII has been LEAKED, and people all over are downloading it illegally via various BitTorrent sites and other P2P programmes. It is believed to have been leaked by gamespot on 1st October, but this is unconfirmed so should be treated as a rumour. This is a review copy, but should be almost exact to the retail copy.

Please note that I am posting this is the interest of news. Downloading and/or distributing this game is illegal and we do not condone it in any form. Square-Enix have worked long and hard on this game.

"The game takes the heroes of Final Fantasy XII, Vaan and Penelo, who are out on a quest to Poolbama (still an unofficial name), an uncharted floating island in the sky. In this said island lies the secret treasure of Grevados. The game takes place years after the timeline of FFXII and Vaan already has his own ship and Penelo pilots it for him. For now, we don’t really know much about the whereabouts of the game and how the gameplay will actually go, but do expect to see a lot of aerial combat, though, as it seems to be the focus of the game." Release Date Pushed Back Further for PAL?

I have pre-ordered my copy of Final Fantasy XII (PAL) from gameplay, and have just received an email from them. In it, they say the release date has been pushed back until 26th January 2007.

You guys should note that this is not an official release date, but an estimate provided by gameplay. For the latest news from square-enix regarding the PAL release date, keep tuned to the official site.

Is anyone else getting tired of waiting for this game? It'll nearly have been a year since it was launched in Japan when it's released in the UK.

Final Fantasy XII Day?

Did that title just make you go, huh? Well New York has declared that October 11th 2006 is Final Fantasy XII Day in a special commemoration at Times Square. Attendees at the DigitalLife 2006 will be the first to be able to play the FULL version of the American version of Final Fantasy XII.

Now don't get ahead of yourself, it is still being released on October 31st 2006 (well, for you lucky Americans anyway. I contacted Square-Enix, and the person I spoke to didn't have a clue about the PAL version, or knew of anyone that would! Charming!).

Any attendees going, Final Fantasy XII will be showcased at booth #1422.
