Vaan (ヴァン Van) is an orphaned Hume urchin who lost his family in the war and now makes a living as a pickpocket in the streets of Rabanastre. Resentful at being forced by the Archadians to live as a common thief, he dreams of someday becoming a sky pirate in command of his own airship. Kouhei Takeda (武田航平) supplies the voice of Vaan in the Japanese version of the game.
